THE GREATEST GIFT
The greatest gift that we can give to another is “ourselves” as we are in the present moment.
Not as we think we should be… with masks and defenses, but as we truly are.
That statement implies having the willingness and courage to lower the defenses and be open to the world.
When we allow ourselves to experience an actual state of vulnerability we discover some startling truths:
q Our vulnerability is actually our strength. It profoundly effects the lives of others. It inspires others to respond in kind. Their defenses become useless and unnecessary.
q It draws others closer to us. Our lovability becomes apparent to everyone.
q Vulnerability is not a state of weakness. It is an inner strength that accepts human imperfection under the discerning light of truth without the need to change or alter it. It is the recognition that we're always “enough” now and needn’t change ourselves to gain the world’s approval. Vulnerability and lovability are synonymous terms.
The greatest gift that we can give to another is our humanity in all its’ imperfect glory!
